TAC’s Summer Internship Program [Note: we are no longer accepting applications for 2009]

The Analysis Corporation’s(TAC) Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate and/or graduate students a challenging work environment and an opportunity to apply their education to real world experience. Interns at TAC work on important national security issues, completing independent and collaborative research, and writing projects such as publishing articles in TAC’s counterterrorism newsletter, the TAC Terrorism Review.

A successful internship can help pave the way toward possible full-time employment opportunities with TAC by joining the growing team of intelligence analysts and counterterrorism professionals.


Job Title Intelligence Research Associate
Hours 10 weeks (40 hours per week)
Begins Monday, May 25th and ends Friday, July 31st
Compensation An hourly rate of $15.00 - $30.00 will be paid commensurate with prior experience
Responsibilities
  • Complete an independent research project and prepare a briefing for the TAC Senior Leadership Team
  • Work as part of research and analysis teams addressing prominent issues for government and commercial clients
  • Complete TAC online training program (TACLearn) in counterterrorism and watchlisting
  • Serve clients across the following market sectors: Federal Civilian Agencies, Federal Defense Agencies, Federal Intelligence Agencies, State and Local Governments, Law Enforcement, and Defense
  • Understand and apply research and writing skills, consulting principles, analytical skills and interpersonal skills to client problems and opportunities related to intelligence, organization and operations
  • Assess client needs and contribute to proposal development
Requirements
  • Ability to secure a Security Clearance (must be a US Citizen)
  • Working on a Bachelors or Masters Degree in International Relations, International Security, Economics, Political Science, History, or other relevant course of study
  • Strong writing and analytical skills; ability to learn, design and articulate quickly under deadline pressure
  • Any experience in or knowledge of the US Government and/or Intelligence Community is a plus


Additional Benefits:
TAC will sponsor all Intelligence Research Associates for Top Secret (TS) security clearances, to be awarded per the Government’s timetable. At the conclusion of the summer, Associates may be offered full time employment upon graduation. Part-time employment during the academic year may also be available.
